Unlock the image by clicking on the padlock (on the layers pane).
Then you can use the wand by clicking on the icon.
You can press delete to remove the background you don't want to keep and it works the same way as the fill in tool.
You can adjust the tolerance to remove less or more of the background.
If you then want to move the image and add it to another one, select all, move it using the cursor, then drop it on the target image.
